Northwood Presbyterian Church chose to make diversity one of its core values soon after the church was founded. In 1965, its leaders  intentionally and formally decided that considerations of race, color, or ethnic background would never be related in any way to our membership requirements. The following year, we welcomed our first African-American members, and we've been on a roll ever since. Our immigrant members represent numerous countries, at least four continents, and many different languages. Our diversity extends beyond skin color, ethnicities, and countries of origin. The range of educational and economic levels is wide. People with physical and mental disabilities always find a safe and welcoming home among us.
