ANNOUNCEMENTS

Journey to Bethlehem - All Church Family Event Today: Put a star on your hand TODAY, December 16, and follow it

to Mackemie Hall where we will begin our trek to find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes. Along the way we will

find ourselves with Mary in the village of Nazareth, the field with sheep and angels, and in the palace with the wicked Herod as he tries to trick the three wise men. For nourishment along our way to Bethlehem, we will enjoy treats.

New Photo Directory: A new photo directory is in the works! As part of that process, individual and family portraits will be captured today in Makemie Hall following the service. No appointment is needed, just show up with your best smile. Our goal is to include everyone in the congregation. We hope to get as many people as possible this Sunday, but plan to have make up sessions for the next couple of weeks for people who are out of town. Member, Les Henig, will

be taking the photos, no selling. Don’t miss this opportunity to be included in your church directory!

Advent Bible Study Begins This Week: Rev. Hayward is leading a study on the theme Awaiting the Already! The study is a survey and discussion of the four gospels presentations of the birth of Christ’s into the world. Two choices for the study await those with interest in this study. Attend either Sunday mornings at 9:00 A.M. sharp in Room 8 or Monday mornings at 11:00 A.M.The study topics include: Pay Attention, The World As It Is, The Ultimate Playlist,

The Light in the Darkness, and Paul’s Christmas Letter. Hope to see you there!

Stewardship: If you have not pledged in the past, please consider a pledge for 2019. Having a more solid sense of the church’s income helps the Session to determine how to best use our resources in the coming year. Please direct any

questions or concerns about pledging to Pam Monroe, Finance Team Chair; Doreen Davis, Church Treasurer; or Gail McGuire, Pledge Secretary.

New Usher Teams Forming: Ushers are often the first to greet new visitors to Northwood and provide an initial impression of our congregation. Ushers also bear vital responsibilities in the movement of a meaningful worship experience. Please sign-up today in Makemie Hall to be trained to serve.~ Your Worship Team
