Reverend Cargal holds a doctoral degree in biblical studies from Vanderbilt University. He has published many bible study aids for laypersons, clergy and scholars in books, journals, and reference bibles. A gifted teacher and recognized biblical scholar, Reverend Cargal is able to make the bible understandable and applicable to life by children and adults. In addition to his training in bible and theology, Reverend Cargal is a certified teacher in the "Active Parenting Today" program. He has been married to Sherri for over 20 years, and they have two children, Eric and Larissa.

The Reverend Timothy B. Cargal, Ph.D., became the fourth installed pastor of
Northwood Presbyterian Church in September of 1997. Prior to assuming this call,
Reverend Cargal was the Associate Pastor for Christian Education at the Donelson
Presbyterian Church in Nashville, Tennessee, and University Lecturer in
Religious Studies at Western Kentucky University.
