From October 23 through October 31, twenty-two members and friends of Northwood Presbyterian Church toured the Holy Land. We visited sites in Israel and the West Bank. It was an exciting an enlightening visit as we learned much about the history of this important land from the biblical period to the present.

During our visit, we endeavored to post a page to this website each day that would let people know how we were doing and where we had visited. Judging from the number of "hits" recorded on the website and the response we received not only from members of our own group but also from others who happened to be touring the Holy Land at the same time, these pages were of great interest to friends and families here in the United States. So we have decided to keep these pages on our website at least through the end of 2000.

The only changes that have been made to the originally posted pages is that certain typographical and design errors have been corrected. A page has been added about our final day of sightseeing in Jerusalem. Finally, the display quality of the photos have been enhanced; captions have been added which can be viewed by placing the mouse cursor anywhere on the picture, and clicking on the picture will open a large size (apx. 800 x 600 pixel) view of the image (use the "Back" button on your browser to return to the full page). Some members of our group took extension visits to Jordan, Egypt and Rome. If possible, we will add single pages about these extensions in the near future.
