"For God so loved the world ..."

Northwood extends its loving reach around the world through its support of the ministries of the Presbyterian Church (USA), and its particular support of missionaries Alice Winters serving in Columbia and Ginger Boyd who works with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Cameroon. In recent years Northwood has joined in supporting the work of one of its own members to meet the needs of children in West Africa.

The Anum School

Northwood is fortunate to have as a member a lady who was born in the country of Ghana on the West African coast (see the map below). Grace maintains ties with Ghana and was moved to found a mission, Children’s Health International (CHI), to feed and provide health care to preschool children. Her current project is the Anum Nursery School. In her words   “…our goal is to continue to feed these pre-school kids, and if possible in the future expand the feeding program to the first grade. Also to provide them with a safe and healthy environment  to go to school. CHI plans to have a humanitarian mission every other year or if possible every year to do health screening with emphasis on pediatrics if there are enough volunteers.” For more information, see the website for Children's Health International.
