Interim Pastor - Rev. Margaret Hayward Rev. Margaret E. Hayward is the Interim Pastor at Northwood, and is looking forward to her interim tenure at Northwood. Her main goal is to enable Northwood to continue and expand its ministries to each member, the Silver Spring community and into the world.
She has been married since 2006 to Rev. Larry Hayward, Pastor at Westminster Church in Alexandria, VA, and she recently began study toward a Doctor of Ministry degree at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary, with an emphasis on preaching.
She was ordained in 2008 as Associate Pastor at Falls Church Presbyterian and also has served as a church educator with congregations in five states including her native state of Texas. Rev. Hayward enjoys communicating the gospel to people of all shapes and sizes in lively, creative ways.
Regular office hours for the Interim Pastor will be Tuesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Wednesday afternoons from 1 to 3 p.m. Pastor Hayward will spend Saturdays and some evenings working at home and will preach on Sunday mornings. Early Sunday afternoon appointments and pastoral visits may also be scheduled.
We look forward to a fruitful journey with Rev. Maggie as she provides spiritual leadership and guidance in Northwood's search for a permanent Pastor. She may be contacted by email at pastor@northwoodchurch.com or by telephone at the church office during working hours.
Office Manager Job titles and office equipment have changed a lot over the past three decades, but through all those changes one thing has remained constant: Judy McPhie's has been the first voice callers heard on the phone and the first face visitors saw in the office whenever they contacted Northwood.
If you have a question about Northwood, Judy either knows the answer or knows how to find out. She can be reached by using the "Feedback" button on our "Contact" page or by sending an email message to office@northwoodchurch.com.
Music Director Northwood has long been recognized for the quality of its music programs. Since February 1999, this vital ministry has been under the direction of Gregory Catrett. He is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music, and has over 25 years of experience as a church musician.
Mr. Catrett's responsibilities include serving as both the church organist and the choir director. He is responsible for the music at all services of the church, including weddings and funerals.
