Weekly Prayer Group
Convening at Northwood Church at 10:00 a.m. every Friday morning. All are welcome. If you would like to request a prayer, please contact the church office or list your prayer on the Prayer board in the Narthex.
Sunday School resumes September 12th
A special series of Sunday Adult classes led by Rev. Robert Angus, Northwood‘s Pastor Emeritus and Chair of Middle East Concerns Committee at Presbytery, will begin on September 12th at 9:00 a.m. in room 8. Rev. Angus will explore the quest for peace between Israelis and
Palestinians as discussed in "Steadfast Hope” a study book produced by
the Israel/Palestine Mission Network of the Presbyterian Church
(U.S.A.). Copies of the study book and DVD will be available free to class members.
Sunday School for children resumes on Sunday, September 12th, featuring the special Enrichment Program. Children will attend the first part of the morning worship and, after the children's message, leave the sanctuary for the Enrichment Program. Nursery facilities are available for infants.
Book Discussion Group
The Group will meet on Tuesday, September 14th at 10:00 a.m. at the church. The book to be discussed is "A Team of Rivals", by Doris Kearns Goodwin This book is about the cabinet that Abraham Lincoln put together, a cabinet of men who had been competitors and who disagreed. It is available in libraries, online and at most bookstores.
Bible Study Group
The Group will convene on Wednesday, September 15 , at 1:45 p.m. in Makemie Hall. Gloria Pendleton leads the study and welcomes everyone to come and join the discussion.
Northwood Church will hold its annual International Dinner on Saturday, September 25 at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome to come. Those of us with international roots are invited to bring food reflecting their national origin. Be sure to bring a covered dish entree that will serve 6.
Scrabble Players
Players assemble on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 1:00 p.m. at the church, so will be playing again on September 28th. Please come and enjoy the game with us!

Children's Health International, a mission partnership of Northwood Church, is located in Anum, Ghana, West Africa. See below.
Children's Health International is a school founded by Grace Kumi Aaron in Anum, Ghana. Pray for the children of Anum School! This mission partnership has been supported by Northwood since its beginning in 2005.
